We would like to invite you to attend this special Italian Art event where Ellen Barrett will talk us through the proto-renaissance artist Giotto. This presentation will focus on the way his art opened the door to a whole new world of painting, introducing the drawing of nature and restoring Italian art to its ancient greatness and prestige. Giotto is regarded as the “Father of Painting” as under him Italian painting became the leading European style of art until well into the 17th century.
