Gruppo 77 is a group of poets and lovers of poetry from Bologna. This is their first appearance outside of Italy; featuring Alessandro Dall’Olio, Silvia Secco, and Stefano Severi; introduced by William Wall, translator of their poems.

Gruppo 77 get their name from the historical street ‘77 S Stefano’ in Bologna where they regularly meet. They aim to promote, nurture and stimulate poetry writing in Bologna, Italy and now also in Cork.

About the Cork World Book Fest

The first Cork World Book Fest was held in Cork in 2005, when the city was European Capital of Culture. Since then, Cork World Book Fest brings books and reading to the centre of Cork life for four days each April; the highlight of this event is the street fair on the Saturday, with more than thirty stalls and street entertainment just outside the Central Library, on the Grand Parade. It is this ‘fair day’ atmosphere that distinguishes Cork World Book Fest from other literary events around Ireland.

The line-up for this year’s Cork World Book Fest is here
