in collaboration with the Department of Italian- UCC, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura -Dublin, the Società Dante Alighieri di Cork and Cork City Libraries is very pleased to present:

“Un romanzo, un premio e la società italiana”

an evening with Italian writer Alessandro Perissinotto and Stefano Petrocchi- Director of the Fondazione Bellonci; Friday 17th of October from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm at Bishopstown Library.

On this night, novelist Alessandro Perissinotto will speak (in Italian) about his novel, “Le Colpe dei Padri- The Sins of the Fathers” (2013; shortlisted for the Premio Strega, 2013) and about the way in which the reality of contemporary Italy is reflected in it. Alessandro Perissinotto will then talk about the role of the Premio Strega in the life of a novel and a novelist; followed by his reading of extracts from The Sins of the Fathers (with English translation) and from his new novel, Oriental Coordinates.

Stefano Petrocchi is Director of the Fondazione Bellonci, which is the promoter of the important Italian literary prize, the Premio Strega. He will speak about the role of the Strega in Italian culture in the second half of the twentieth century.
