The Amerigo Vespucci Sail Training Tall Ship

August 2012

The Amerigo Vespucci Sail Training Tall Ship, led by Captain Domenico La Faia, will arrive in Dublin on August 23rd and will depart on the 27th and will be moored on Sir John Rogersons Quay on the Southside of the River Liffey in Dublin 2

This port call will happen in the frameworks either of the traditional summer cruise to train the Italian Navy Academy Cadets or of the Tall Ships Race.

The Amerigo Vespucci left the port of Livorno, Tuscany, on July 16th to begin the 78th training cruise of the Naval Academy Cadets.

This year is particularly meaningful as it corresponds with the 500ennial of the death of the famous navigator Amerigo Vespucci, from whom the “New Continent” takes the name.
